Why Goat’s Milk?

Terra chose goats milk because of its natural ability to replenish and care for skin like few other ingredients can. Goat milk is full of vital minerals that are readily absorbed by the skin.  Of the many vitamins it is particularly high in Vitamin A, which is necessary to repair damaged skin tissue or nappy rash, and maintain healthy skin. The other major benefit of goats milk in the use of baby products is that it has a PH level that is remarkably similar to a babies skin while they are still developing their acid mantle.

Goat’s milk dates back to Cleopatra, the last ruler of the Ptolemaic dynasty, who was renowned for her beauty and rituals such as bathing in goats milk. The reason this was so effective was that like with all milk goats contains lactic acid which helps your body to discard dead skin and hydrate the under layer. Historically it also used to offer relief to those suffering from skin conditions like acne and eczema. That’s owed in some part to the exfoliating qualities mentioned above, as well as its excellent antibacterial properties.

A unique fatty molecule works to inhibit the growth of microbial organisms that act as a catalyst for those troublesome skin concerns, while the cream in milk makes for an excellent moisturiser to soothe and rejuvenate the skin, giving it a powerful anti-inflammatory quality.

Although their is many great benefits in its use it isn’t just about how it can improve your skin, but also what it can’t harm. At the very core, goat’s milk offers a moisturising, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, nourishing (take a breath here), repairing and revitalising treatment that doesn’t carry with it any of the negative effects.
